It’s November. The leaves are turning, the clocks have changed, and we’ve arrived at National Blog Posting Month (or NaBloPoMo for short).

For two years I’ve considered participating in NaBloPoMo (inspired by Terence, Amanda and @jukesie) but I didn’t leave enough time for preparation, and I would have run out of steam before the month was out. This year I started early, gathered some ideas, and started a conversation which inadvertently led to a writing support group (thanks Steve) https://join.slack.com/t/renegatus/shared_invite/zt-1h6t22m79-bJakJdm3iuT2xPEkqbFlOg

Throughout November I’m aiming to publish three posts per week. I was originally aiming for one a day but have realised that amount of writing is unrealistic given my schedule, so I’ve reset to something (hopefully) more achievable.

Some posts will be long, some will be short. Some will be work-related, many will not. Feel free to propose a topic or a spin-off if you like my style and want to hear more.

My goals are to:

  • Keep turning up. A single paragraph is better than nothing. As Lauren Currie regularly says to the UPFRONT Global Bond: ‘get going, then get good’. This process is about getting back into a regular writing habit, and the quality should steadily improve.
  • Get over the ‘cringe’ factor of reading my own writing, in hope it will unlock more creative inspiration.
  • Find some new people to connect with who share similar interests and/or are also participating.
